- Adult Males- stomach is greenish-blue, bluish color on base of throat which is surrounded by a black outline
- Adult Females- yellow, orange or red color on base of tail, whitish color on stomach with black flecks, pale blue color on throat

- Females have wavy dark crossbars on their back
- Males have faint or absent crossbars on back
